CPSC, Advantage Publishers Group Announce Recall of Children=92s Activity=
=20
Books

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety=20
Commission (CPSC), Advantage Publishers Group, of San Diego, Calif., is=20
voluntarily recalling about 5,300 =93Amazing Baby=99 Listen and Play=94=20
activity books. The hub of the pink dial embedded in the inside back=20
cover can come off during use in some of these books, posing a choking=20
hazard to young children.

Advantage Publishers Group received one report from a consumer of a hub=20
coming off. There are no reports of injuries or choking incidents.

The =93Amazing Baby=99 Listen and Play=94 book has a multi-colored cover =
with=20
a baby face on the front and is an interactive book designed to allow=20
children ages 12 to 24 months to learn about different sounds, images,=20
and materials. The cover also shows a yellow bird that makes a squeak=20
noise when pressed, and a clear plastic container of multicolored beads. =

Mounted onto the inside back cover is a small rotating plastic wheel=20
with finger indentations, which makes a =93clacking=94 sound when turned.=


Retail stores, national book chains, wholesalers and distributors, and=20
membership warehouse clubs nationwide sold the activity books from May=20
through October 2003 for $16.

Consumers should immediately take these books away from young children.=20
