Belly belts?
Okay, I am 31.5 weeks. I've gained a lot of weight and my belly is HUGE. I
am considering getting a belly belt to help with support when I have to be on me feet for more than a couple of hours. Any insights? I need to look for one today, as I am looking after my friend's cafe again this weekend. I did it last weekend, and my back and belly were SO sore after just a few hours off and on my feet. There is a Motherhood maternity shop in our mall. Do you think a pair of support maternity hose would do as well? Thanks in advance Alexis EDD 4/21/04 Beanie #1 |

Belly belts?
I was having the same problem and I bought a belt from Motherhood. I joked
with my husband that it was like God's hands holding my belly up. Unfortunately my belly outgrew the belt and the velcro became more irritating than helpful. I enjoyed it while it lasted As far as panty support hose, I don't think I could stand the extra heat from wearing them at this point. I am always so hot!!!!! Can't wait until that part of Preg is gone Good luck Crystall EDD Feb. 9, 2004 "Auntie Bubbles" wrote in message ... Okay, I am 31.5 weeks. I've gained a lot of weight and my belly is HUGE. The hose wouldn't really do much for you. Kat Mama to Maggie 11/03/01 and Will 02/10/04 |

Belly belts?
I haven't tried the belt, but the support maternity hose didn't do anything
for me. They were more annoying than helpfyl, because they kept rolling to the bottom of my belly! (As you might guess I have a very big belly!) Love -- Nicky EDD March 26, '04. It's a girl! |

Instead of the hose, you might want to try diabetic socks, or other socks
that are supposed to help with circulation in the feet when standing for a long time. My mom is a nurse, always walking around and on her feet, she swears by them, and she isn't diabetc by the way! And I guess they really do more for my legs than my belly and back. I also have a belt, and it feels great, but I seem to have a lot of contractions if I wear it for more than a couple of hours a day. Has anyone else noticed this? -Michelle edd 3/14/04 |

I had a lot of pain (associated with my first c/s), and I could go out. It didn't stop the pain, but it made to where it put it off for a while. Before the belt, I could only go out for an hour at the most. Post-belt, I could stay out for 4-5 hours. It was great. You can also get girdles. I didn't like them though. The belt was more comfortable. -- Daye Momma to Jayan and Leopold See Jayan and Leo: http://www.aloofhosting.com/jayleo/ |
