I wonder if that's because with the stronger prescriptions they have to use
superthin lenses with these trendy new frames to avoid the 'goldfish bowl'
look. I have a prescription of -4.75 in one, -6.00 in the other, and I opted
for the thinnest lenses they had, which I know are more expensive.
They still overlap the edges of the frames considerably, so I wear contacts
most of the time.



Oh yes, the thinner lenses are a lot more expensive. My poor DH has a
pretty strong prescription and in the past, his glasses were like bottle
bottoms. (the glasses that he has now look great, though)
