Beheading Our Values
I tend to really wonder sometimes about our society. I wonder how many
people would stand up to one of those butchers of Nicholas Berg (conspiracy theories aside) and say: "Hey, you know? You didn't mean to hurt him. It was just part of your nature and I'm sure it was an accident, right? You probably did put some food out for Mr. Berg. It would appear from the video that he had clothes on his back. And, you know, it is obvious he had a roof over his head. I mean, at least you did rip his head off in a room somewhere rather than out in the desert. But, we feel that you did him a favor by doing all that for him before you hurt him. Sure, you tortured him and ultimately cut his head off for the world to see, but we can overlook that in light of the obvious care that you took with him prior to that event. In fact, how about we take care of you in return by forcing Mr. Berg's parents to pay you large sums of money monthly so that you can continue to hurt other people. Now, you have to promise to feed them too. Make sure they have clothes before you beat them half to death and murder them. It's okay. Ultimately, we might be able to stop you when enough people think that we're going too far in helping you, but we know what they don't. You have to eat too. It's not fair that you starve while you maim, torture and kill others. We're only looking out after the best interests of our people who are held hostage by you." I sometimes really wonder about Americans. It's little wonder that people in many countries find us to be just plain savage. But at least now you have a basic idea of how the child support system in America (and specifically Texas) operates. Don't believe me? Ask any father whose child has been the target of abuse by a mother, had that child forcefully removed by Texas CPS to protect the child and is still forced to pay her -- even though she doesn't have custody of the child anymore -- through State sponsored intimidation and coercion. Odd. That almost sounds like the definition of domestic terrorism. Paying known child abusers with hard working parents' money must end. But I bet you won't hear about that on the front page of the paper or the 10 o'clock news. Well, tell someone already. CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT 26 - CONGRESSMAN MICHAEL C.
