Default How does a Guardian Ad Litem differ from Home Evaluation?

I motioned the court appoint a GAL for some things I talk about in the
"Merry F'ing Christmas"thread in this group. As well as what I talk
about in there, Ms EX found a BF who wants to adopt my kids from me.
Mom seems to be all for it. I think that's unbelieveable. I worry about
the parental alieantion and other damage they could be doing to them.
Mom just answered the motion with a motion for home study evaluation. I
don't know how that differs in my case. anyone?

I'm not sure what you are asking, but a GAL will represent your kids and the
home study evaluation is an evaluation on home life while the kids are with
each parent. It sounds like your ex is trying to show your home is not
"fit" for the kids - regardless of how your kids feel about you. There
*could be* a difference of opinion between the home study and GAL. How a
judge will react to each opinion is dependent on the judge. Your best bet
is to stick to your morals on being a parent to your children. A court
would have to remove your parental rights before your ex's BF can even think
of adopting them. That can, and will, bring emotion into the picture.
She's probably trying to push your buttons to force the court into removing
your parental rights by showing you have aggressive tendencies, an unfit
home, etc.

I hope this helps.
