Bleh
I was so pleased to have got to 24 weeks without sucky SPD or my useless hip
dislocating this time round, when *whee!* - along comes sciatica ( I didn't know I was pg when I started my job, and they've been so awesome. When I was off with pains and in hosp etc, they never moaned. I so hope I'm not off too long with my back, but it's a job where I have to lift :s I'm off the next two nights, plenty of hot baths I guess... Bleh. |

I know an exercise your husband can do with you. You have to get on your hands and knees and he puts his hands flat on top of your butt, about an inch apart, where he can feel the hipbones, then he moves one hand toward your shoulders and one hand toward your knees, kind of holding on to the skin, if you know what I mean, so he won't be able to move the hands very far. Our midwife called it "Apfelschuetteln" (Appleshaking i.e. shaking apples from a tree) so it's a semi quick movement that shakes the nerve free from wherever it got pinched. I didn't have a problem with that pesky nerve during pregnancy, but shortly after and man it was no fun! I thought I had dislocated my hip or something (2 a.m. could not get out of bed, ended up calling emergency services to ask for help. It's not reassuring when the guy at the other end of the line goes really quiet when you tell him what's wrong. Even the EMT was kind of dumbfounded, turns out my symptoms were kind of unusual.) cu nicole |
