Hi there, anyone had any experience with this condition? What treatment did
you chose? Was it successful?

Thanks

Judy

Default Cystocele, fallen bladder

My friend just a few weeks ago had surgery to fix it. After years of having
a fallen bladder.
She is off work for a month now. Not allowed to do anything for 4 weeks.

Default Cystocele, fallen bladder

Hi, Wow, we should talk!!!! I have a herniated bladder AND colon,
it's pretty gross, have a big bulge coming out my vagina--feels pretty
yuckky. My OB/GYN tells me to wait until I have all the kids I want,
then we can address by surgery if it's appropriate after a review at
that time. Currently, the best thing is to do Kagel exercises
(pretend you're peeing, then stop the pee flow, then pee again, then
stop the pee flow, etc.....keep doing it LOTS, while driving, while
watching TV etc...) Breastfeeding does hinder the situation, because
there is a lessened amount of hormones (Progesterone??) that can also
make the situation improve. But for me, bf is waaaaay more important
than my cycstocele. So I just do Kegels when I remember and don't
worry about it too much and will deal with it when I'm done having all
my babies--perhaps surgery then. BTW, you can opt to either have a
full hysterectomy, or just surgery to correct the cystocele/fallen
bladder while keeping your uterus intact. At this point, I'm pretty
sure that I'll opt to keep my uterus intact and NOT have a
hysterectomy, though many "old school" docs recommend a hysterectomy
(or, docs who are lazy and more familiar with doing hysterectomies as
opposed to more precise, corrective surgery). Be sure to get a 2nd
opinion if you're being advised for surgery/hysterectomy. Take care,
feel free to email me: . Best, Sarah
