Well I think you've done an AMAZING job. How many mother's nurse their
babies until they are THREE? It must be a tiny tiny tiny number. Well
done!

And good luck tonight!! : / Let us know how it goes.

Love

First, happy birthday to him!

Second, you've done something that most moms don't. And for that, you
deserve a big glass of wine and a handful of peanuts :-). Pats on the
back from everyone in here (including Larry :-) ).

Pats on the back and a big hug. I can imagine how hard it must have been
to stop after so long.

ROFL. I can just see this is the sort of thing that may happen with DS
if/when I am the one who decides to stop first. The apparently strong
gender bias towards wheeled objects despite no encouragement has blown
me away.

FWIW, I don't think I ever forgave my mother for selling/giving away my
Tonka dumptruck during a garage sale we were having. it was one of my
favorite toys. I don't remember any more details than those...

For a while we've been telling Gareth that when he's three, it's time
to stop nursing. He's been down to one nurse at bedtime for months
now. He did have a good long nurse last night, and I told him it's
the last time.

Congratulations on this big achievement! You have set an example
for many, I'm sure.

Come'on, Michelle! Doncha know that the world wide average age of weaning is
4.2 years? Get that kid back on the breast for another 14 months right NOW!
And quit yer bitchin'.

(I trust I don't need to put a smily here...)

He he ... my DH has a bulldozer (and a truck and a tractor and motorbikes
and go-carts etc - farm boy) and his first present to DD was a mini
bulldozer Somebody remarked recently that she only has "boy toys" and
doesn't have any dolls .... I might have to rectify that for her birthday ..
hmmmm...

OK. I know you have a "right" to make this decision, but I am
still sad about it, and wonder if child led weaning wouldn't be
better. I promise not to comment on it again. :-(

But Larry, is child-led weaning best when the mother isn't comfortable with
nursing anymore? IMO, A nursing *relationship* involves two people and both
should be considered. I mean, come on. She gave him three years. I think
she did awesome.
