Default Errin and breast feeding!

I breastfeed my 2 year old until she was ready to stop at 15 months and
then I had a horrible case of engorgement..OUCH! I am talking Amazon
woman.

My five month old lost 15 oz. at her three month check up so I was
forced to start supplementing formula bottlefeedings earlier than I
wished. Next thing I know she was only satisfied with the breast for up
to two feedings a day and my OB said I need to wean completely and go
on the regular Pill or use a back up method everytime we have
intercourse, to insure I do not concieve! Backup methods do not work
well with my husband and I so I chose sto top breastfeeding and not get
pregnant. I AM ****ED! My baby seems to be perfectly healthy and much
happier now that she is getting the food she needs but I believe Errin
was the cause of me drying out.

When I explained my feeding switch to the pediatrician she asked flat
out if I was using Errin. Yeah how did you know?! I asked her, she is
the mother of three preschoolers two of which are twins and she breast
feed all she claims that Errin dried her out.

Did any one else have the same expierence? And if your on Errin and
your baby is not nursing well it may be the reason. I wish I had found
out before I stopped. Which, by the way, when I did there was NO
ENGORGEMENT! At all. If I breast feed my first daughter like I did I
know I am not to blame for this.

Hmm, I can't understand why this would be. Having Googled Errin, it seems to
be a progestin-only contraceptive with 350mcg / 0.35mg of progestin. This is
the same as my Noriday progestin-only contraceptive which is considered safe
for breastfeeding, and several women here are on similar pills.
I'm sorry about your experience :-/ I don't think it is your fault either,
but perhaps something else was responsible?

Well I cant be certain what the cuase was I suppose. With my first
child I was on Nora-B which I assume was similar. But when their ped
responded like she did it really makes me wonder.

I went on Errin at my 6 week post-partum, and didn't see a change in my
supply-and since I was EPing, it would have been obvious had their been one.
The only thing so far which really has taken a toll on supply (except time)
is Sudafed-which takes it down to almost nothing while I'm taking it and for
about a day afterwards.

Wow, I never even heard about that before. I know I wasn't sick or
anything and I wasn't taking any meds.
