Default Collecting Child Support

Child support issues have risen considerably in the United States
almost bottoming out several parents (especially women) and children
to poverty. According to statistics more than $41 billion are owed to
thirty million children in the US in child support fees according to
ACES (Association for the Enforcement of Child Support.

What should be done to protect yourself from bankruptcy and other
hardships as a single parent?

With the rising cases of divorce, unhappy marriages, and infidelity,
it is very important to file for child support as soon as you and your
husband/spouse separate. However if you are unmarried, you should file
for child support as soon as your child is born.

All parents both biological and adoptive as the case may be are
required to support their children (adopted and otherwise) until they
reach the age of majority which is usually 18 years old; even longer
if they have certain disabilities. If the child has been adopted or is
in active duty for the military then the parents' obligations to pay
child support end.

Mothers and Fathers have every right to get child support only if they
have custody of the child. Step-parents on the other hand are not
obligated to support their spouse's child which is the fruit of a
previous marriage or relationship. However a father who never married
the mom of his child is still obligated to pay child support but of
course there can be disputes as to whether the child is really his.
In order to collect child support, you have to get a court order based
on a divorce, marriage dissolution, etc. This order is a binding order
by the judge and without this either parent has no obligation to pay
child support.

It can be impossible to collect child support if until you can locate
the parents curent employment. This can be done by hiring an
investigator like www.emailrevealer.com.
Locate Current Employment search is only $175 .

The Census Bureau reports there are 21.6 million children under the age of
21 (not 30 million) where CS has been ordered. The $41.0 billion is an
estimate by ACES based on the Census report indicating $37.0 billion has
been ordered in 2003 dollars. It is a mistake to imply $41.0 billion is
owed to children. CS is owed to CP's and $25.4 billion is reported as being
received annually.

It is also a mistake to equate CS and poverty. The Census Bureau reports
only 15.7% of CP's work full-time. Another 42.2% work part-time. And 42.1%
don;t work at all. Children are forced into poverty because over 80% of CP
mothers don't work full-time to support their children.

Get a job. Get a better job. Increase the father's parenting time.

Not the way it works. Paternity must be legally established before CS can
be ordered from unmarried parents.

What about marriage, emancipation, change of custody, or death?

CP's have an obligation to provide CS too. Non-working mothers are failing
their own children by not living up to their legal obligation to support
their children.

Why would anyone pay $175 to get this scam when the Federal Parent Locator
Database will do this for FREE.

And where do you expect those already "in poverty" to come up with $175?
Aren't you kicking those who are already down?

Not to mention their own drag on the system. Even if you argue that the
non custodial parent gets "free" or reduced-rate child care, that still
leaves who's supporting their dead ass, and we can drop all this
self-employment crap. Until that e-bay business you have pays not only
the costs (ISP, packing, etc), but a profit you can live off of, you're
just twiddling your thumbs.

The best way to collect support is to maximum involvement and visitation
between the children and their father, regardless of how vindictive the
mother feels. She is shooting herselff in the foot by minimizing visitation
if she wants no hassle with support! read How to Minimize support at
