Child Support ?'s
"Lyn Simpkins" wrote in message ... I have 2 questions about Child support. I live in WV but originally from Ohio. I have had to get my Daughter on public assistance ( Medicaid card) and they have helped me try to get child support for her as they always do when u apply for any type of public assistance. Just recently they have told me that the state of Ohio has declared him disabled and they can not pursue it any further, he's no more disabled than me but that's beside the point, Can my daughter get a check because of him being disabled? If so, what do I have to do to get this started? And also, If you were found to be the father of a child through DNA, is there a thing where u can actually sign away all rights to that child and any obligation to child support? Not in a MILLION years! ONLY mothers have such rights................... next. |

"Lyn Simpkins" wrote in message ... Yea, he is a jerk. Make sure you tell your daughter that. She hardly remembers him. She asks questions every once in a blue moon but for the most part, I never talk about him, never even bring his name up, I don't want her to think the reason he doesn't come around is because she has done something to offend him. I never want her to think it's her fault at all!!! |

"Chris" wrote in message ... "Lyn Simpkins" wrote in message ... Yea, he is a jerk. Make sure you tell your daughter that. Did you read the whole thread, Chris. THEY planned for the child together. THEY cared for her together for 4 years. Then he walked out. I would love it if you would justify a man having the right to ditch a child because he decides that he no longer wants to be a father. There is definitely merit to the demand for equal post conception rights for men and women. But the idea of one gender being able to walk away from a child that already exists and and relationship is already established is repugnant. The whole CS system can go hang--it is a rotten, self-serving system. But CHILDREN deserve better than that!! She hardly remembers him. "Chris" wrote in message ... "Lyn Simpkins" wrote in message ... Whatamess! Yea, you could say that again. Actually it was just a question I had and somehow it seems like I am "Harrassing" her father, I don't get it. He hasn't paid a dime for her ANY!!! Not a cent! I have worked my entire life to support her, When child support went after him that's when he claimed disability for what ever reason. He walked out of her life 7 years ago and hasn't looked back, he can not claim we moved as we stayed in the same house for 4 years after that. And also, I never claimed to be "rich" or needy, but if it's your sperm then you should damn well take care of it. Disabled or not! Once he donated his sperm to you, what you chose to do with it was your SOLE choice. On the contrary, Chris, THEY decided to raise a child. HE copped out after 4 years. |

Another woman could ALSO decide to raise a child with her and cop out after 4 years. Where's HER sperm? |

Either a man IS the father with ALL and EQUAL parental rights to the mother, or he is is NOT. Take your pick. She hardly remembers him. So, if he walks out, she is supposed to stand the child on the stresst corner and not carefor her 50% of the time because that is "his time" whether he takes it of not? What SHOULD have happened in this case? How would YOU handle it? She hardly remembers him. I said THEY decided to raise the child together then he copped out. It wasn't her unilateral decision. As you well know, I DO agree with you about equitable post conception choices for both men and women. But after 4 years, we are no longer talking "post comception," except in its broadest sense. |

This may only be a strange figment of my imagination, but something tells me that a father's rights (if any) are FAR inferior to a mother's rights. Of course the legal system has no bearing on this bizarre illusion of mine, does it........... HE CHOSE to walk out. So, if he walks out, she is supposed to stand the child on the stresst corner and not carefor her 50% of the time because that is "his time" whether he takes it of not? Of course the legal system has no bearing on this bizarre illusion of mine, does it........... Chris--they were together--BOTH were parenting the child. HE walked out. Why is it ok for him to walk out? Surely you are not using the legal system that you so despise as an excuse to say that a man should be able to walk away from responsibilities that he CHOSE to undertake toward a child that he CHOSE to help create? Do you really think that the CS system as it now stands makes it ok to abandon your own child? (Bear in mind that in this case, the man was NOT forced out of his child's life--he walked away) |
