It amazes me how the recent Child Protective Services report cites more
things the agency failed to do than what it did right ("CPS case records
released in deaths," Republic, Tuesday). And this is an agency people
still try to defend?

It wouldn't be a CPS report without alluding to "understaffing" as a
reason why things (read: children) fall through the cracks.

I wonder if CPS caseworkers ever remember the children they failed to
protect? Or do they simply forget them by washing away the images of
their faces with self-serving reports like this one?

Gov. Janet Napolitano needs to take immediate action against this agency
and start removing the leadership responsible for these types of

It is sickening how many children are subject to abuse, neglect and even
killed at the hands of Child Protective Services.
