red spot near pupil of new born

Hello All:
My wife delivered a new baby boy on Jan 22. He was quite health and
everything went well. I just noticed one thing. In his right eye just
near his pupil, he has a reddish spot. It is not perfectly round but
it is there. I am very worried. We have regular checkups every week
but I couldn't wait till next visit so I thought this is a way to see
if anyone has any answers.

To this day our daughter whos almost one gets these quite ofter and it seems
to go away in a few days. Her pedi was not concerned about it, in fact she
gets it again when shes in the bath tub.

A few of my babies have had these, they are little pressure
haemorrhages in the eye. They look scary but are pretty
harmless and are gone by 6 weeks. With my son Zachary he had
both eye whites completely blood filled, he looked like a
vampire baby.

Same thing happened to Erin - her right eye white was almost completely
blood filled, her left eye looked a bit better - it was all gone around week
5.
