Default 28 weeks and not much baby movement

Hi,

I am at my 28 weeks and do not feel much baby movements. Only
occassional kicks, very soft. I have been diagnosed to have
gestational disbetes and under special diet, walking etc(so far it is
under control). I noticed that the movement has gone down once I
started the controlled diet and thrice-a-day walking(the movement was
never too much though). Is this a cause of concern? Is it a common
thing not to feel strong and frequent movement at 28 weeks?

Thanks,

Bashuri

I also have gd, and have noticed that when my sugar is high... (over
135-140) I feel less movement.. don't know if it actually is related though.
Hope this helps

I almost never felt "strong and frequent movement" with Emily. I figured
it had something to do with my placenta being in the front. Oddly enough,
there were movements I could *see* but not feel. I wouldn't have noticed
them if my husband hadn't pointed them out.

I asked my midwife about it, and she said as long as they were frequent
enough (I was late enough to be counting movements when I asked), the
intensity of the movement didn't matter. And in fact Emily is a
healthy, squirmy 7-week-old now. :-)

If you're worried, I'd encourage you to talk to your care provider. They
should be able to tell you what's within the range of normal.
