No Amen from me. Are you going to keep the kids away from school and public
places too? Until kids immune systems have built up their immune systems,
that happens in school too.

I do think a daycare is particularly a breeding ground for sickness...
How could you possibly argue otherwise? Mommies everywhere say, when
their daycare kid gets sick, "It's going around!" Where? At the
daycare!

Daycare for a baby is different, I think, than a school for a 5 year
old who's not drooling, sticking things in their mouths, etc.

But, YES, I plan on keeping my kid(s) away from public schools! It's
not just a virus they catch there!

I can say the same thing of school. The flu is going around, where, the
classes at school, lol.

Hmmm.

heh, our first method of disease surveillance in the community is
monitoring schools. When the kids start getting sick, that's the first
indicator something is about to spread through the community.

Do you object to homeschooling?

Just wondering,

The flu was really bad this year. Either that or they were protecting
themselves because of the media. This was the first year they closed the
school due to so many teachers and students being absent. I started sending
my girls with their own water bottles and Purell to help out with the spread
of the germs.

It's not a choice I would make for our family.

Wow. I didn't realise y'all got hit so hard. It was a very mild season
locally, and the peak occurred during Christmas-New Year holiday.

To be honest, I didn't think it was that bad either, but obviously the
schools were hit hard. We never got sick (only colds) this winter, so I was
very shocked when they closed the school.
