Default Skipped a period?

Hi all,

A strange thing happened this month. 2 months ago, I went off the pill- not
because we're ttc, simply because my prescription ran out and I haven't
gotten myself back into the office. So last month, I had a normal period.
This month, however, it hasn't shown up, and I'm now 37 or 38 days into my
cycle. (I do tend to have more like 31 day cycles, but still). I did have
some mild cramping last week for several days, but no period. I've had 2
negative HPT's so looks like I'm not pregnant. Think I'm just screwed up
from going off the pill? Thought I'd be ok if I was ok last month. Thanks
for any thoughts.

it's very common for things to be irregular following time on hormonal birth
control, after artificial hormones are controlling you cycle for a while, it
kind of makes sense that it takes a bit of time to get back to normal.

Yep--it can be normal to have a longer cycle or shorter cycle for
several months after being on hormonal birth control. That said,
stress can play a part too! I just had a 41 day cycle for no apparent
reason other than I've been working more than usual, and work has been
extremely stressful. I had 2 negative pg tests, and was actually very
disappointed when my period started. :-(
