OMG! I am too busy to go into details but I just HAD to log in for one
minute and tell you guys.....that my water broke at 4:30 am on May 9,
without warning, and my baby is here early!!!!! Rachel Lauren F. was born
May 9 at 9:48pm, (yes, on Mother's Day here in the U.S.!), weighing 7 lbs

11
oz, and 18 inches long.

Congrats! And I hope you 3 are getting your bonding time in without too
much interruption from family!

May 9 at 9:48pm, (yes, on Mother's Day here in the U.S.!), weighing 7 lbs

days before her birth and was only 1cm dilated.

OMG! again! It's a long story- the end result is a perfect, beautiful,
healthy baby and we are home, a vaginal birth. But it was SO scary- things
went wrong, the midwife had to call in the OB, and I came thisclose to
having to have a C-section. My waters broke and hours later I had NO
contractions and the midwife convinced me to be induced by Pitocin- she
really didn't ask me, that was what she said her judgement deemed

necessary.
It started slow and then in a few hours I was fully dilated and pushing

hard
for 4 hours but the baby was stuck. I was in a LOT of pain during the

labor
as they kept letting my epidural wear off (on purpose) etc.

But my baby is perfect and healthy, I am calm and everything was ok in the
end. Breastfeeding is going GREAT! The baby is beautiful. I will try to
check in soon but I have my hands full. It was traumatic and exciting--

but
I am shocked she was one week early!!

Oh My GOD!!! I'm so happy for you AND you named her my first choice:
Rachel Lauren. I'm so very happy for you. I'm doing the Happy Dance (which
you will be doing in a few weeks).

Thanks you EVERYONE for the good wishes and congrats. I am reading them all,
and appreciating the thoughts! It's so hard to find a minute to sit at the
computer So I may be behind on responses (and will probably never have
time to post like I did during pregnancy, LOL!!!)

Rachel has had quite a few poopy diapers today! She had a well-baby visit,
and this is her daddy's last day off of work. Starting tomorrow, it's just
me. Well, I'm cheating....I begged my mom to come over!! I do that all the
time now, "Mama please come over!!!" Lol.

We sure did! I did tell my mom when my water broke, and told her not to come
until my husband called her when it was over. But of course as I knew she
would, they DID show up like 2 hours later! But, I found that I was glad to
see my mom and dad. I had my husband call his parents and they drove 3 hours
to come to the hospital and everyone waited in the lobby for hours. Rachel
was born at 9:48pm, and once we got settled, no one left until just after
midnight. On our first day home.......we got home, and I called my mom to
come right over!!! Can you believe that.

I was so sore, and really appreciated the help but even so, I wanted to
share my baby!

Jill
