Default My poor little guy has a cold

OK, I know that it doesn't sound that bad but he's just coughing and
coughing and coughing. He even threw up his lunch he was coughing so
much. I feel so bad for him, it sounds awful. I wish there was
something more I can do for him.

Try running the hot water in a closed bathroom (fan off, and
supervised, obviously) to get it good and steamy. That might help
loosen up the gunk.

My mom always puts rice in tube socks, then nukes it for a few minutes
to get it hot, and puts it on her head (for a sinus infection). I've
done this for a chest cold, and it feels really good. Just make sure
that you use REAL rice, not Minute Rice - Minute Rice will set your
microwave on fire. Also, smush it around with your hands a lot before
you give it to him, to ensure that there are no hot spots.

Something hot to drink might help, too, if he'd tolerate it...

Good luck, I hope it gets better!
Amy
