They had absolutely no idea, actually. As it happens, we are both
part of a large social circle, and I had only met them a couple times.
Then, they got a sudden opportunity to adopt a baby, so there were no
pre-baby name discussions! But, as it happens, it seems like our
paths are going to cross more in the future.


But, they are using a different nickname (Gwen for
Gwendolyn vs Wendy) so I feel ok about still using it.

Well, technically, Wendy was a madeup name for Peter Pan, if I have my
information correct. However, it is considered a possible nickname
for Gwendolyn, at least in a few of the baby name books I've seen.
Plus, I really like the idea of a little girl nickname Wendy Bea/aka
Wendy Bee! (And in a couple of weeks, I get to find out, possibly,
whether or not I get to use it...)
