Oscar Winner Gives Birth, Twice

POSTED: 6:55 am PDT May 17, 2004
UPDATED: 7:26 am PDT May 17, 2004

LOS ANGELES -- Oscar-winning actress Geena Davis is the new mother of twin
boys.

Davis' publicist says the "Thelma and Louise" star gave birth to the twins
on
May 6 at a Los Angeles hospital.

Kian William and Kaiis Steven are now at home with their mother in LA.

The boys were the second and third children for Davis, 47 and her husband,
Dr.
Reza Jarrahy. The couple already has a 2-year-old daughter.

Can't wait for this board to pick apart those names too.

I'm happy for Geena and her husband. Not fond of the name choices but I
respect them.

How do you say their names? I assume that the first is pronounced
"Key-an" but what about the second???

On another board someone said "how did those weird names William and Steven
get in there". Took me a minute - lol.

Well her husband is Indian I beleive, so I'm sure the other 2 names have
some kind of meaning. Maybe? Although Kyan is a Queer Eye guy so we'll
see - lol.

I think Kian is like Ryan.
No idea about Kaiis.

No, she didn't. Mariah Carey never said such a thing. See the thread about
Gwyneth Paltrow for more discussion.

Not sure how you pronounce them but I would pronounce the first Keean and
the second Kayis. I quite like those names, although they might find they
have to spell out their names to everyone.

My first thought for Kaiis was like "Case," but it might be two
syllables like Ki-iss. Kian could be like Key-an too, I suppose. Oh the
possibilities....

I have to constantly spell my son's name for people or carefully
enunciate it, so I guess I shouldn't throw stones.
