Default 28th week update

Hi everyone. Baby (the fetus, not the 12 month old 23 pounder who's asleep
right now) and I are doing fine. (The other baby is fine too.) Speaking
of sleep, I am just at the point where I am thinking of using my body pillow
for some of the night. Until my nap today, I've been happy on my stomach.

I am not doing routine "prenatal care" but rather as needed, and taking care
of and responsibility for our needs myself (I'm knowledgable). This is
great because I'm not being pestered to do anything silly like gestational
diabetes screening next week, whoo hoo! Also -- the most dangerous thing I
did last preg. was drive to prenatals.

I think I've gained about 30 pounds -- I'm tall, and it feels like a fine
amount to me. Meg was just a big baby, I lost the 45 pounds I gained in
three weeks, so bring it on with this one. I have varicose veins this time,
and am pleased to think that modern pulse-dye lasers can improve these. I'm
walking most days, and that feels good. I'm soaking in the spa as much as I
can get in, which is several days a week.

Speaking of spas, I have an indoor, deep water portable spa to use for
pregnancy soaks and birthing tub, that I first set up in early September ,
and is *still* a project to get it working, but all the warranty repair
parts are here (basically all new guts), and just waiting for the spa guy to
come back with the right tool on his truck to install the ozonator so
everything will be on the spa and not on the floor. All of you who are
planning to use a hot tub at your birth, I am warning you to start any
repairs early in the second trimester. I went through this in the last
pregnancy but with my outdoor tub that ALSO required multiple, multiple tech
visits. Getting one thing working, causes something else to blow, and oops
I don't have that part/tool on my truck today. See you when I can next work
you in.

The PTSD from Meg's birthrape is still a bitch. Everyone who has this from
an abusive birth says the birth where they are treated right heals them. I
think it will. I think the pregnancy has been very important in keeping me
alive, in keeping me in hope. I can't wait to hold a just born baby in my
arms for the first time.

I like holding Meg in my arms, too. She's still my baby. I am going to be
so blessed to have two babies at once. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! I can't wait to
nurse both -- can't wait to nurse them both in public -- can't wait to sleep
between two little cherubim. Can't wait to see Meg look at the baby, touch
the baby for the first time. She's in a marvelous affectionate, stroking
hugging place right now. You should see her with her baby doll. She is
going to be great.

Sounds like you are doing well, Dagny. Your thoughts about Meg are so sweet.
I'm sure she and the new baby will be close.
