Anyone Find Cool Birth Announcements?
I ordered birth announcements for Laszlo from www.storkavenue.com and I was
really happy with them, but I want something different this time around. I'm actually considering making them myself (in these wee hours consumed by insomnia!) but in case that fails, I was wondering if any of you had found any unique birth announcements online. Thanks! - Jen, momma to almost 2 year old Laszlo and expecting Lily Parker 3-13 |

I've received quite a few in the past few years with baby photos, baby's footprint, family photo, hand- painted additions, calligraphy, etc. Yes, it's standard paper, but it can be treated very creatively. gloria p |

Sounds very cute and incorporates some of the things I was considering too!
Thanks! "Richard" wrote in message ... Jen, one neat one that I saw was self-made. It was a five-part fold out with monochrome images: (1) "+" from a home pregnancy test, (2) u/s image of baby (recognizable features), (3) (very big) belly shot, (4) the newborn, with name/date/weight and footprints below, and (5) the new family, all radiant, of course. It looked like it was made in something like Photoshop, then brought to a professional photo finisher for production. Very simple, very to-the-point. Richard Micaela's dad |

Anyone Find Cool Birth Announcements?
First off, hello all.
This is my first post here (so be gentle). :-) New York Jen wrote: : ...happy with them, but I want something different this time around. We were the last of our friends to have a baby, so we had seen just about every possible announcement out there. You know how it is - those are nice, but my son is SPECIAL! :-) We finally found these two-sided cards that we could print his picture (and birth info) on the front. On the back we had a picture of the three of us in the hospital. Then we put a verse about how special he is (of course!). At the bottom we had his footprints. To do that, I took about a half-dozen sheets of plain white paper to the hospital. As they did his birth certificate, I just had them stamp his feet a few more times (on my paper). I liked the fact that we could put more than one picture on the announcement. Wow, this is getting to be a long post. Can you tell I'm a talker?!? :-) The announcement also included a blue pen that said "It's A Boy!" on the side. We mailed a few with the announcements, but I handed most of them out (instead of cigars or candy bars, or...). First, the bad news: These weren't designed to be birth announcements. We found them because my wife and I own a promotional products company (you know - putting company info on pens, coffee mugs, calendars, etc.). They were desinged as business advertising. We just changed what was printed, and they turned out great. Now, the good news: WARNING - SHAMELESS PLUG: We got such a positive response from friends that we decided to design some others and start another business selling these. You can see what I'm talking about at www.BallpointBabies.com Whew, I feel better now. Okay. You don't have to buy these, but I'm so proud of what we did I just HAD to share it. Since we started this, I've checked out just about every birth announcement out there. If you want me to post what I thought some of the other cute one's were, let me know. :-) P.S. Congratulations! |
