Default car seats

Does anyone have any suggestions for car seats. We have a
two-year-old and we're expecting twins soon. We drive a Subaru
Outback wagon. We'd like to put the toddler seat and two infant seats
in the back seat, but we don't know which seats might fit in this
arrangement. We'd prefer to find small car seats rather than buy a
bigger car.

Looks like the absolute narrowest infant seat is the Britax Handle With
Care, at 13.5" wide, and the narrowest toddler seat you can still buy is
going to be at least 16.3" wide. Of course there are probably other seats
not listed here but I imagine you're probably not going to find any too
much narrower than these.

So now the question is, how much room is there back there??

We bought two Graco booster seats when our son was born. We can get
them into the 3rd row of our Grand Caravan minivan, but it is quite a
squeeze when you want to connect the seat belts. We can also get them
in with our Century car seat in our Dodge Spirit. At least with the
infant seats, you can take them off of the bases. If you have a
BabiesRUs in your area, you can go and put them in to see if they all
fit.
