Default Eye Infection

Im so sad. My 9 day old baby has a cold and an eye infection. Poor thing
she is stuffy but luckily not enough to make her not nurse. We have an appt
with her doctor tomorrow for her eye. Can someone please tell me if there
was a thread awhile back about putting breastmilk in the eye for eye
infections. I sort of remember reading something about that but im not sure
and I dont want to hurt her. Can someone tell me if I dreamed this or if it
could work. Thanks

I remember reading it as well, so unless we had the same dream...

Try not to stress so much, eye infections are VERY common in newborns, not
sure why exactly, but I know a ton of moms who mentioned eye infections
early on.

It cleared up DD's eye very quickly. And it worked really well on a
homeless kitten we looked after for a night!!

You can put breast milk into her eye for eye infection. If you're using a
cotton ball to do it with, just remember, one swab once... don't reuse a
swab you've already used on it. You can also put a drop or two or EBM into
her nostrils (one at a time) to soften anything in there and help her sniff
it back

Heh..not only did it clear up the eye infection in my 15 month old
son..

but it cleared up the eye infection in my 8 year old son.

...and my 4 year old daughter....

and eventually in my 32 year old husband. *wink* THAT was
interesting. I was squirting breastmilk into everyone's eyes. Thank
goodness I didn't get the infection. *lol*

LOL!

My 2 sons have a bug that consits of a cough, cold eye infection, and ear
infection. They are on antibiotics but they haven't shifted their eye
infections, should I use breastmilk before going back to dr?
