Morning sickness
Has anyone pleaseeeeeeeeee got any cures or tips on coping with morning
sickness. I feel sick all day, everyday but I am only actually sick once or twice every other day or so. I can't pin point any real triggers at the moment but I feel soooooooo awful. I didn't really have any MS with my other 3 kids so dont really know how best to deal with it. I have also gone off most food and after only having a few fork fulls or so I have to stop eating as I feel sick. Any advice?? Thanks Clair UK Mum to S (7), H-J (6), D (3) and Bump due 16/5/07 |

Things that helped me whe Nibbling a dry cracker, digestive biscuit or ginger biscuit first thing in the morning and throughout the day. Keeping hydrated with lots of water Coca Cola and herbal tea. Small meals and often No greasy or heavy food. It was summer so lots of fruit and salads, but for winter steamed veggie are good. Milk in my cereal was also dodgy so replaced with toast. Avoiding anything heavily scented or smelly. 14 weeks - it tailed off till almost non-existent, so fingers crossed for you. If you google on this group there are loads of other tips people have posted previously which may be helpful.. Jeni |

Morning sickness
Try to eat small frequent meals only keeping a bit in the stomach. This
worked for me for my DD. For my son well I had stressed induced morning sickness til I was 5 1/2 months. So even after trying everything my doctor put me on phenergan which didn't do much either and finally zofran which did a little. You definitely have my sympathies!!! I had HORRID MS with my boys, absolutely none with my girls (with DD and this pregnancy) With the boys, it was so bad and I'd explain it best as you already did. Have you tried crackers? I had a sleeve of those regular soup crackers (salted tops or something they're called) stashed on my night table - I had some before even moving out of bed, as well as some before bed) I also carried some with me at all times. I find they worked great to get something easy and something that's kind of considered to be food in my stomach. I had those first thing in the morning and last thing before bed. During the day, I kept Arrowroot cookies handy. Once again, I found them easy to handle and digest. I could NOT eat the arrowroots in the morning or before bed - that was puke city for me, but during the day, before eating an actual meal, it helped me. (I would eat some of the cookies about 15-30 minutes before a meal) Nothing really seems to help much, the crackers/cookies were a lifesaver for me! Don't know if you've tried that already or not...? |

I don't know if you have them where you live, but Altoids sours or some other hard sour candy helped me. Also, lemonade. Nan |

I lost weight in my first trimster because of this - it's awful isn't it? What helped me was small sips of Fruit Punch. Though, now I can't drink it because it reminds me of feeling nauseous! I went off food too, and all I ate that first trimester was spinach of all things! Hope you feel better soon CY "Clair Crooks" wrote in message ... Unfortunately it didn't stop until about 1hr after delivery either. Basically nothing helped permanently. Sea sick bands worked for a reasonable length. Sipping coke helped. Ginger biscuits helped until they came back up (they burn on the way up), cream crackers lasted a few days. When we moved house at the end of my 1st pregnancy there were all these half packets of things I'd found helped for a short time (usually just after I'd bought 4 packets convinced I'd finally found something that would cure it) then couldn't touch again for rest of the 9 months! I ate little during my first trimester.... so anything was a godsend! I stayed away from strong smells also.... Lili |

Morning sickness
I feel for you! I tried everything in the book and nothing helped until my
doctor suggested an anti nausea drug... I just cannot remember the name now. It does not harm the baby and it allows you to go on with your life. I was taking it before bed and in the morning... adjusting the dose to suit how things were going. I ended up being on it for the entire time. It is expensive but lucky for me, my company has an ok drug plan. I think its a very common drug... sorry for the mommy brain! -- ..oO rach Oo. "Clair Crooks" wrote in message ... Sorry no advice here in fact just reading this thread is making me nauseous With my daughter I was so sick, nothing helped. It lasted until week 16 or thereabouts. Some people advised always eating a little something but I simply threw everything up. I sucked on hard lemon candies, and ginger ale always tasted good. I also drank a lot of milk. This time it is milder and I do have some hungry periods, thank goodness. Ask your doctor about medication, it might really help you. Elle |
