Questoin on misc.kids.family life

Does anyone here access that NG using AOL? I've been trying to sign up via
mailing list and haven't received confirmation yet, and was wondering if there
was another way to view it.

You can't get it through AOL, Laurie, because it's not yet in the Big 8.
It's still just a test group, hosted privately on Brian Edmond's gweep
server. You can read it either by subscribing to it as a mailing list or by
setting up the news.gweep.ca server as a news account in Outlook Express or
another newsreader. You can get directions for both methods by going to
http://www.gweep.ca/~robomod/misc.kids.family-life/.

Well, she did say she was trying to sign up "via mailing list," which I
assume means she was trying to subscribe to it as a mailing list...

We should check with Brian et al and see if there is some kind of error or
if her request has been received, I think.

I've been to the link you provided and have actually been reading the group for
a couple of days, but just can't post! It's frustrating! I no longer have
outlook so until someone answers my request to view it via mailing list, I
guess I'm out of luck! I filled out the form 2 days ago.

moderation delay, but you have been green-lighted so you should

Your first post did come through. You do need to realize that the
first post takes a bit longer than other posts because of the
moderation delay, but you have been green-lighted so you should
be fine now.


Ok, I feel like a dumb ass, but I didnt' realize I had made a first post. I
thought I had posted a request to read the group via email. I didn't realize
it would go to the group, I thought it went to the moderator. I'm still at a
loss then as to how to post in response to threads; I was expecting to get all
the threads in the account I had set up just for that purpose.

Help!

Ok, that's really bizarre; I only posted that here.

You should be able to just hit reply or reply all (or reply group)

I'm reading the group through the link that Cheryl S. gave me (same one Barbara
posted) and while I can read, there is no reply button available. I suppose
it's because I don't have the proper news server set up. I'm only reading
through the archives.
