Default Government Lawyer's claim it's not their problem

http://www.modbee.com/local/story/11...12712682c.html

Here's a story about a Sheriff's Deputy injured on a job related incident,
but Government Lawyers are defending that it's not the Governments job to
look after tragic cases.
------------------------------------------------
A lawyer for the county sees things differently.

Attorney Douglas Sparks of Sacramento said Rash did not need to know how to
shoe his horse to be a member of the mounted unit. He noted that Rash was
not required to take the class and was not reimbursed for the class.

He said the accident, though tragic, is not the government's problem.

-------------------------------------------------

I'm asking, how does the Government get involved in people's personal family
problems if they don't think it's their job to look after all the tragic
cases of society?
