Default Dad on Dr. Phil

Just saw a trailer for a Dr. Phil show where he is beating up on a deadbeat
dad.

It airs tonight!

The father did want to know where all his money goes, Phil told him, "it's
none of your business!".

He probably assumes, like many (most, all?) of the laws do, that the
mother is responsible and caring, not knowing that those mothers are
fewer and farther between than anyone wants to believe or that many C$
"debts" are more than the expenditures on the child.
That is the attitude of the US however. The child's welfare is none of
the father's business. It's downright shameful that this once great
country is quickly becoming a third-rate country due to it's feministic
leanings and laws.

Was interesting to see the poor mother was sitting on the show, 7 months
pregnant with her 3rd child from a different man. 3 different dads, now all
paying CS and Dr. Phil buys her sob story that she just can't meet the right
man and he is going to pay her rent until the new child is born and hire a
life coach to help her make better decisions. She had just bought a new car
not more than 8 months ago and she complains she has no job and can't make
the payments. Booo Fuucking Hoooo!

This was a white woman in her mid 30's too, what an idiot!

And these are the type of woman the law is designed to help?

Dr. Phil sounds like my ex. I pay over $1300 a month in CS. I also pay
daycare (80%), extra expenses, and ALL expenses when the child is with
me (I don't get a CS check from her to cover those expenses). When ever
I ask my ex to purchase:

- new boots (her reply - none of your business)
- pay for her share of soccer (her reply - none of your business)
- purchase food (her reply - none of your business)
- etc

My ex truly beleives that the CS money is HER lifestyle money. After she
pockets the cash... THEN we start talking about purchasing things for
the kids. It boggles the mind.

Dr Phil simply continues the stereotyping and typical societal attitudes
toward paying fathers. No wonder we suffer in silence.

Sorry for the rant. Only when you are in the system day-to-day, do you
realize how f*cked up it is.

One final rant: I love the all double-standards within the system. I
must pay CS to my ex. After all, it is for the children. It is ASSUMED
my ex is paying her share. I have court orders to pay. I have a Child
Support Guidelines I must follow. I have the entire weight of the
government on my shoulders should I not pay. Yet no one, NO ONE, is
watching my ex and ensuring SHE is paying her "share". *shakes head*

One way to fix this (not a wise one, but it would work):

Make it profitable for the government to poke its nose into her
financial affairs. Allow them to confiscate items above a certain
lifestyle limit that were not purchased for the children, for example.
Not a good precedent, but if the government profits, it might bite.

What's with this ludicrous and hypocritical Dr. Phil guy anyway? How is
it that so many still think of him as a straight-talking , hard-hitting
person who can provide helpful advice on family matters, when he's just
another great big phony with a daytime TV show designed to pander to a
female audience? Dr. Phil, the fat guy who advises on how to diet? Dr.
Phil, whose ex-wife says he was a philanderer during their marriage? Dr.
Phil, who was closely involved in several unsavory business transactions,
including the marketing of a nutritional supplement found to be totally
worthless? And on and on.

Jerry Springer and Geraldo Rivera have more credibility. Mostly, I
think Dr. Phil is not worth powder and shot. Why does anyone think he's a
reputable figure whose views should count for anything whatsoever? All we
can hope for is that his next divorce, when it happens, will bring to light
enough dirt to dislodge him.

There's also no one looking to see that what you pay her goes to the
kids either.
My story is similar. Nothing about my son's life was any of my business
EXCEPT the money I had to pay his mother and that was limited to paying
it, not where it went.

Kenneth,

Your are absolutely right! Dr. Phil is a phony!
It is frightening to hold up people like him,
Oprah, and other bleeding heart socialist liberals! Finally, let us all
hope and pray that
"It Takes A Village" Hillary Clinton is NOT elected(or nominated) for
President of the
country.....When that day comes, I'm gettin'
my ass out of this country!!!!!!!!

Is it not unreasonable for us to ask our government representable to change
the law, so that CS money becomes accountable? Is it not in the best
interest of the child to assure that all that money is being used for the
best benefit of the child? Can we not at least make sure the kids are
living in a good quality environment with healthy things to eat, clean
clothing to wear, and social activities to help them expand their horizons.

The government should be held liable if the kids are living in rat infested
apartments, ridden with cat **** and not wearing decent clothes to keep them
warm if the mother is receiving the extortionate CS amounts that the
government collects from fathers that cannot afford these high rates.

The money is not being spent on the kids, then what was the point of
aggressive collection of it?

He does talk a good game, the same as any con man!

While the show is on the air, that will never happen!
Much like the Clintons, image is everything! What I can't believe is the
American public didn't learn from the first Clinton and they are about to do
it again with the second Clinton. These people are not in the game for the
better of their fellow citizen, it's all about them!

Is it any wonder this country is so ****ed up with the leaders they pick?
