Default growth spurts..?(long-sorry)

My baby boy has been nursing like a champ since birth, every 2and a half to
three hours except a five hour strech at night. I recently started taking
wellbutrin for depression, not really a post partum thing, more of a my
whole life thing. I asked if I should take zoloft or paxil, as i have read
here it is more highly recommended, and have had bad reactions to prozac in
the past, but my doc insisted the wellbutrin was fine. After taking it for
three weeks, my baby is constantly hungry. I am wondering if i could be
having supply probs, or what. He is almost 12 weeks, maybe a growth spurt?
He has only had breastmilk, and doesnt take bottles at all. He feeds about
the normal length of time, but is always chewing his fist, even immediatly
after eating. And he is hungry again within the hour. Am i being paranoid?
Should i look into galactagouges? Growth spurt? Help!
TIA
Dena

Normal. Not a sign of low supply. He's just discovered
that fists fit into mouths.

And he is hungry again within the hour.

Maybe growth spurt, maybe he just likes to suck. If a
growth spurt, it'll likely pass in a week or so.

I don't know about the drug, perhaps someone here with Hales can check it
out for you.

It's worth checking the drug details to ensure that's not behind it, but
other than that it's highly unlikely almost impossible that at 12 weeks you
would lose your supply.

Most likely, yes.

12 weeks is a very normal BF baby growth spurt time, in fact anywhere
between 12 to 16 weeks can be which can be why some mothers are so keen to
push solids and it does seem baby is hungry.

Best thing you can do is how nature intended. Book a couple of quiet days,
no visitors, and go to bed with baby. Let him feed as much as he wants,
spend some time skin to skin contact and generally let him empty your
breasts until they feel like they're turning inside out! If you give in and
let him do this your milk supply will very quickly increase to match his
changing needs, whereas if you drag it out by trying to feed him to his
original pattern you'll be making the whole thing more painful and long
winded for yourself.

Good luck
Nikki

You know, I just thought of how nice that must be for them...gums and
fist gnawing.

Ah, but when she's nursing on the other side, not only can I
not type, I can't use the mouse.

I normally nurse while watching tv...and thankfully we have two remotes
(one that came with the cable box, one that's an AIO). So one on each
side of me :-).

Default Update- growth spurts..?(long-sorry)

Thank you all for the words of wisdom. I was pretty sure it was a growth
spurt, but the coincidence of the wellbutrin being introduced made me a
little nervous. He seems to have gotten his fill over the weekend, and has
slowed down almost to his usual today. Not that i mind feeding him, that
snuggling time is just the reason i gave up my job to be an at home mom!
At his 2 month wbv a couple weeks ago, he was 13lbs. That from 8lbs5oz at
birth! Guess momma's milk is doin its job!
