How are you feeling this month, first-trimesterers? Still feeling
sick and tired, or are you starting to pick up?

I've been reading this newsgroup since last summer (and wow, thanks to
y'all for being such a wonderful font of information and experience!).
Even though I've only posted once or twice I'll chime in here anyhow
;-)

I'm 11w5d right now. Morning sickness started the day my period was
due (that's actually one of the reasons I did a HPT!) and has, alas,
been getting worse rather than better. I have been worshipping the
porcelain idol, as it were, at *least* once a day for the past few
weeks, and am getting VERY GRUMPY ABOUT IT thankyouverymuch :- Oddly
the only time it let up was for a few days this past week when I have
had a killer chest cold hack cough wheeze groan. Possibly I felt too
awful to be merely nauseous, I dunno. On the bright side, my boobs are
no longer sore and by now I can get up three times in the middle of
the night to pee without ever really waking up at all :-)

Do you look pregnant?

My waist has disappeared into general blobbiness, but as I've only
gained about 3 lbs I would not say I look pregnant as such.

Heard the heartbeat yet, or still searching for a care provider

who fits your needs?

Found a great midwife practice (whew!), and they're going to listen
for the heartbeat in my next appointment, this Thursday.

Is it feeling real to your DH, or still sinking in?

Well, we've gotten pretty well used to the idea on a practical level
(e.g. it's becoming second nature to figure "having child next summer"
into our plans for the future).

But I don't expect it will feel "real" until our as-yet-unborn child
leaves for college someday. If then ;-P

It's hard to believe this is actually happening. I'm 38, will be 39
when baby is born, and until I met my now-husband several years ago I
would -never- have believed I'd want, much less *have*, a kid. DH says
the same.

Life is WEIRD :-P :-D

Thanks for the chance to share,

Pat

Hi all;

How are you feeling this month, first-trimesterers? Still feeling
sick and tired, or are you starting to pick up?

I have been reading much on this newsgroup. Spoke once or twice. Well,
we are expecting our first baby around July 31st.

I went to the OB as soon as I found out ) I had my last appointment on
Dec. 18th, baby is well & measures 14 mm ) Hubby started calling it
peanut. We also saw the heart beat, but didn't hear it just yet. On Jan.
15th we're going to hear it. Exciting.

As far as morning sickness, thank God, I am clean. Nothing. Just
extremely sensitive to smells and foods. I also seem to have
schizophrenia ) I'd crave some food, get up, cook it & as soon as it's
on my plate, I can't touch it. Hubby likes it, cause then he gets it all
for himself )

I was feeling real tired & sleeping a lot. This also caused my digestive
system to play tricks on me. After seeing my doctor, he explained that
if I want relief, I need to fight the feeling of being tired. I took his
advise & I think I am slowly getting more energy (it could also be,
cause I am starting my third month). Don't know.

Do you look pregnant?

I think I just look angry & frustrated ) I am bloated like a baloon,
my pants are getting tighter, but I am fighting it.

I must say though that pregnancy is very different than imagined. It is
not fun.

Is it feeling real? Wild dreams, hormonal mood swings, food cravings?

I think I handled it much better when I first found out. Now I am
stressing over everything. How am I going to take care of the baby &
finish my degree at the same time? Should we move closer to University
(we rent)? Many questions, much frustration and little enjoyment

As for the Vivid dreams, I was not aware that it is part of pregnancy.
) But oh yeah real vivid. I was just telling my friend that I had a
dream about this fight I had 10 years with an ex-friend. It was so real
& I was even more angry at her than I was in real life. WEIRD!!!!

The mood swings ))))))))) Yeah, it usually happens in the evening. I
suddenly lose my energy & then I feel the blues. Poor hubby

Awww, thanks! That made me happy to read.

I'm doing well -- adjusting to the major cross-country move we made a
few months ago. TTC like the dickens! We did a visit back and forth
this month -- long flights and major dehydration yesterday especially --
which may have messed up my ovulation this month, but I'm feeling fairly
hopeful anyway. If nothing else, I'm finally getting the hang of
accurate charting. It's amazing how much I didn't know about my body
when I got pregnant with Sproutkin. I'm still hoping for an autumn
baby, but we're taking a major working vacation this summer so not being
too hugely pregnant in a tropical place would be good, too!

Sproutkin's doing great -- still loves to nurse, is talking up a storm,
making up her own songs and games... she loves to count and "read"
(meaning play with her alphabet magnets, naming the letters and then
putting them together into nonsense and telling us what word she made),
crayons and her baby doll are the current obsession toys. I'm looking
around at the mommy-and-baby stuff that's offered in our small but very
friendly new town. We're going to start taking a ballet class together
soon (I've been wanting to start real ballet again but hopefully I will
soon be too ungainly for anything but toddler classes), and we'll start
an indoor swim class soon after that.

I'd love some baby dust, if anyone's sharing!

Where did you move too? Weren't you in San Francisco?

East Coast -- brrrrr! Quite a change for a California girl. I didn't
really truly *believe* that thermometers went past zero before. I
thought it was just exaggerating, or something. LOL.

Sounds like you and Sproutkin are having fun DD (almost 17 mo) loves to
"read" her books too - makes up some story to go along with the pictures for
ones she doesn't know that well .... and the ones she does are just *so*
funny (apparently). (the stories are only able to be understood by DH and
me

It is amazing how much you find out about your body once you start to chart
I'm sending baby dust to you ~~~~~~

We are; as much as I miss snuggly infancy, toddlerhood is a HUGE blast.
And I'm so happy for you, and looking forward to watching your
pregnancy progress, as well! Report on any sibling prep you do as the
date grows closer.

I'm taking it! tucks more baby dust in pocket, by now overflowing from
all the generous mkp women

So far we are just talking about "bubbies" in general and *gently* looking
at our friends' 6 mo. DD looks through magazines and likes to point out any
"bubba" she sees inthe pages.
I did tell her that there is one in my tummy and she just rolled about
laughing.
