Sudafed question
Anyone know what the maximum daily dose of Sudafed that's safe for pregnancy
is? The sheet given to me by my doctor says 60mg, best not to take more than 3 times a day. I do not take 60mg at one time usually, and with this nasty cold, it wears off long before 8 hours. I don't feel comfortable taking a lot of Sudafed so I am trying to make do without but need some relief. Is 30mg every 4-6 hours ok? With 60mg taken once at bedtime? I have noticed a lot of fluttering (ie possible baby movement) since I started Sudafed yesterday and it makes me wonder if it is a shock to the baby... |

I'm actually not sure how Sudafed came to be on the list that most doctors hand out that says, "Safe for pregnancy".. since Sudafed is a pregnancy risk catagory C drug. Wow, if that is the case... Cheap study, I guess. |

Wow, if that is the case... Cheap study, I guess. I don't know why my dr considers it safe but all the ob's there consider it very safe but emphasize that they can't guarantee the safety of any of the meds on the list including tylenol. My dr does recommend not taking anything if it is not absolutely necessary, such as don't take sudafed for a little sniffles, but it is ok to take sparingly when you are completely congested up etc. I am hoping that using sudafed for a week will not hurt. I have done so well on not taking other medicines that I would normally take... |

I took sudafed occasionally (1-2x every 1-2 days) during the worst of my previous cold. I'm apparently getting it back because I had to take another pill this morning after a few weeks of feeling much better ... and my bub is active & wiggly, growing right on target (a little faster maybe) and was perfect on his big week 20 level II ultrasound. I have the maxium strength, and take only one pill at a time, just to clear things up enough to be bearable. |
