Australia's first breastmilk bank opens!

This has been a long time coming but it's finally here! Not sure which
hospital, but it's in Perth and has been open since 25th August.

There was an article on it in last week's Who magazine but my copy got
recycled due to a big clean-up prior to a whole lot of family coming over
for Father's Day BBQ on Sunday... So no details, just the announcement
Maybe there's someone here from WA or who still has their copy of the mag or
more info?

Sorry no info ... but have you heard the CD for the milk bank project ("The
Gift" - A Woman's Song).
Its *wonderful*.
I think it was supporting the establishment of the milk bank on the Gold
Coast .

It's at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Subiaco, Perth - where I gave birth
to my lovely 9-month old boy on New Year's Day! (sorry, just had to
share)....

From my pre-natal group - we were told that once the bank was up and
running, mothers would be paid for donating breastmilk. Milk is used for
prem babies.
