toe walking and braces
My son is 7 and has always walked on his toes. He had been seen twice
by an orthopedic Dr. and once by a neurologist in the past and they all said he had OK range of motion and to wait for him to outgrow it. Last week we had to visit the ortho dr. because he broke his arm and I had them look at his feet again. Now the Dr. says he needs to wear braces. Obviously I'm very worried about this. A search on the internet has revealed a wide variety of worrying options such as casts, surgery, and braces. We are going to get a second opinion. Any advice and ideas on this problem ? Also any advice on how we can approach this with our son - as I'm sure he will not be enjoying the experience of wearing braces (esp in the summer). Thanks! |
