Default Hypothetically speaking and stuff

Can I have some feedback on these names, any make your stomach turn, any
you adore that sort of thing....connotations to them, no need to feed
back on every name just the ones you have strong thoughts on. Trying to
come up with some sort of short list for contemplation, not having much
luck.

Adelaide, Arabella, Georgette, Freya, Fleur, Jemima, Lucinda, Lucianna,
Matilda, Poppy, Saffron, Tamasin (not Tamsin), Tansy, Willow

And would it be too cheesy to give a baby girl born in May 'May' as a
second name?

Girls names we already have are...
Tessa Hannah
Paige Breanna
Grace Madeline
Rose Isabella
Amelia Kate
Lydia Elisabeth

Andrea no middle name

Personally, I would avoid Jemima for sure. I have fond
memories of a professor named Poppy (*very* bright and interesting
lady). For some reason I'm not fond of Saffron, though I can't
put my finger on why. Freya doesn't seem to fit with the rest
of your names to me. I like Georgia better than Georgette (which
is a kind of fabric, though I confess Georgette Heyer novels are
a guilty pleasure ;-) Have you considered Rowan? A friend named
his daughter (now 7-ish years old) that, and she's a pretty
impressive kid. Seems to go with your other names (in my head,
anyway, which might not count for much ;-). Claire/Clare/Clara also
seems like a name that might fit with your others.

Not in my book.

Best wishes,
Ericka

It doesn't? Poop, I liked that one lol

Yeah Georgette is a fabric g but Georgia is my nieces name, and also
far far to common here, although very pretty.

Have you considered Rowan?

I do like Rowan, and Arwyn, and Moira and all those LOTR variants but
Rowan and Rohan are a little too male sounding. And Tessa's favourite
book is Rowan of Rin by Emily Rodda so it feels a bit weird.

Thanks for your help :-)

It's a nice name--just seems so very Nordic to me ;-)
At least I *have* Nordic ancestry (Mom was bucking to name
me Sigrid, which sounds hopelessly tall and blonde to me!).

Hmm...odd...for some reason I don't associate Rowan
as a LoTR name and it seems *very* feminine to me. I think
I thought of it because you look a lot like the little girl
I know named Rowan (a pretty little thing, she is).

Rowan and Rohan are a little too male sounding.

Ronan is the male name I tend to think of, though
no one but me seems to like it IRL.

And Tessa's favourite

I can imagine it would be a bit odd to have a sister
show up named after one of your favorite book characters ;-)

Hmmm...what about Franchesca/Francesca? (That's actually
my sister's name). I guess what's throwing me is that the
names you have already are so traditional (though not particularly
common) but the names you list that you're considering seem
much less traditional. Maybe that's the direction you're
trying to head, though--no rule that says all your names have
to be consistent! A name I've been a bit intrigued with since
I saw it waaaay back in my family tree is Tacy.

Best wishes,
Ericka

Unless you're an Australian.
You could only think of Sigrid Thornton

Well, blow me down, had no idea.

Rowan and Rohan are a little too male sounding.

Rowan and Rohan are typically boy's names here too.

Ahhh...don't think I've met any male Rowans,
though I have met male Willows (of all things--that
name seems very feminine to me for a boy). Must be
because of the movie.

Best wishes,
Ericka

Sea Change used to be on our PBS station. It was a fun show to watch every
now and then.

I know a Sigrid who is blonde and will probably be tall, so that is my
association as well. LOL

Have you read the Betsy-Tacy books by Maud Hart Lovelace? They are wonderful.
The little girl who is called Tacy is actually Anastacia.

No, I'll have to look those up. It seems that my
ancestor's given name is actually Tacy. All her documents
list her as Tacy Walter, and there's never any indication
that she had a longer name. For a long time I thought it
was Tracy, and then realized there was no "r" in it! I
hadn't ever heard the name Tacy.

Best wishes,
Ericka
