Default Moving to another state: a question

I believe that it's a federal felony to cross state lines in order to
"avoid" child support. Maybe they just want that to be used as a deterrent
to prevent this, but I'll leave it to you to test it...

Then again, if you wanted to make sure that your case was dealt with on a
federal level, then it might be a good idea...

Default Moving to another state: a question

Actually just wanted to make a small addendum here...what does it actually
matter as long as he is current and still continues to pay?

Remember "they" are still required to get that money in there by any means
necessary (AFAIK). As long as he is obeying his CS order no one should
have the need to "track" him down. If he does then it's up to the legal
system to find him...which is probably up to the indivdual state he's in.
Worst case is assuming that he doesn't get into any trouble with the
authorities, they'll probably catch him when he pays his taxes.

Default Moving to another state: a question

If a person who is ordered to pay CS in one state, and is current on
payments, moves to another state; does the first state *actively* go
on the search for him?

Or is it just entered into the database and if he surfaces or shows up
on the radar or re-enters the first state - they nab him?

Need to know SOON.

Thanks!

Usually in divorce cases and child support cases, the order has a section
stating you must notify the other parent if you plan to move. Many times
you must notify the enforcing agency of your move. If you are current, and
the child is 18, you are done, or 3 years from done if your kid is in
College. Why not just notify them and keep up the payments?
