HELP! 9mo doesn't like formula
Perhaps you read more into my post than I meant. I didn't mean to "beat her
up". I just assumed that since it was posted to a bf'ing group that she was still bf'ing to some extent and wondered why the OP was trying to give formula. That's all. I had no other advice to give as my DD wouldn't even take a bottle of EBM let alone formula. "Jenn" wrote in message ... Pumping your own breastmilk is a far better alternative, healthier, free and she will like the taste because it's sweet and FULL of nutrients. There will be no forcing, crying screaming or the like and no "tricks" to worry about. If there is something we are missing here, do let us know... the woman has apparently long since stopped nursing -- yeah I nursed mine till they were ready for regular milk but that doesn't mean I or you should beat her up because she made a different choice. how about some advise that might be helpful? CY "ryanding" wrote in message om... My 9-month-old daughter does not like any infant formula. The more we try, the harder she cries. The moment we switch a bottle of water, she calms down and starts sucking the bottle. If we switch back to a bottle of formula she immediately senses the difference and starts kicking, crying, pushing and turning her head away. This happens even when she is obviously hungry. So it appears that the problem is the taste. We tried different kinds of formula, Enfamil, Similac, milk based, soy based, lactose free… But they make absolutely no difference. Every feeding is a big fight. This started when she was 5 month when started to stop breast feeding. The only way for her to take any bottle formula is when she is half asleep. So the first thing that we do when it’s time to feed her is to rock her to sleep. We also have to catch the right moment before she sleeps too deeply. If she skips a nap she skips a meal. I’ve heard that feeding while the baby is sleeping is bad for her health. I am about to send her to day care, I am really worried that anyone in the day care center could feed her anything or would like to try our trick. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, ----Ryan. |
