Isn't it amazing how all those ritalin advocates can explain away the
evidence that is staring them in the face?

Here are some more new studies showing negative long-term
consequences of ritalin.

Ritalin use in preteen children may lead to depression later in life,
studies of rats suggest.

Let me suggest that you read Joe PArsons comments in the thread entitled
Stimulants doom Children to life of unhappiness, despair, depression..

Are these studies or press releases? And if they are press releases, are
they about the same study or different study?

For having a Ph.D., you sure aren't bright.

3 different studies are described. All indicate negative long-terms
effects of ritalin, based on rat experiments.

Yes, it is unfortunate that the authors have not put detailed reports and
raw data on the web, so everyone can examine them. There is no
excuse for burying tax-funded studies. There are millions of ritalin users
who need this info.

So post it to a veterinary group.

How about humans?

Bottom line of the study: This study concurs with 11 previous studies in
finding no compelling evidence that stimulant treatment of children with
attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder leads to an increased risk for
substance experimentation, use, dependence, or abuse by adulthood.

Ummmm.... 11 studies in humans out of 11 show that Ritalin does not
increase the incidence of abusing drugs and you call it "explaining
away the evidence"...yet...when you list 3 studies in rats we should
all take heed.

At least you are consistently inconsistent.

Studies described. These are not studies. They are news stories. Very
different. And, as we have seen many times, news reports can be inaccurate.

Everyone can examine them. There is the place in the hosptials called the
"library".

And what would they do with the raw data?

You think the NIH got it wrong? Then post your own summary.

So go examine the raw data, if you know where it is.

People have been asking for long-term studies on ritalin. Well here are
3 of them, and the results are all negative.
