Infant Asthma
Hi
Just recently my DD was coughing up so much that she was throwing up milk daily. Finally, she was prescribed asthma medication and that seems to have helped with her coughing. We were told to give 2 puffs/ day for 6 weeks, if her cough is completely gone then to give just 1 puff at night. Anyway, the medication is giving her thrush which i think was causing some feeding problems. Would washing her mouth out after the puff help? I also use probiotics and they seemed to have helped but is that alone enough? I have nystatin but haven't given it to her yet as it didn't work for her in the past. Lastly, do I really need to give the asthma medication for such a long time? Are there any side effects to the medication as well as if i were to stop the medication? Thanks Nitu |

You should probably be asking your doctor these questions. Many of us on the newsgroups don't have experience with asthma, as it can be a life threatening disease if you don't follow instructions. If you stop the medication and she still needs it, then the asthma will get worse. Sue |

Try to search for asthma in this newsgroup. Tine, Denmark |
