Default OT DS cured me? ;-)

*g* I have PCOS. DS was likely my only prior ovulation (and I have the
ultrasound to prove I had a follicle (like DS wasn't enough), but since
his birthday, I have had regular cycles, and suspected I was
ovulating....this "cycle" was weird, but I decided to chart
(haphazardly). tomorrow I'm going for a 7dpo progesterone level, just
to see if I'm right and I HAVE been O'ing regularly.......pretty
exciting, though frankly a useless "party trick" atm. I hope it means
that the pregnancy with DS re-booted my system......

NYJen et al here with PCOS, espcially thin PCOSers....anyone find the
same (well, obviously Ms Jen-full-of-Lily....*you* did ;-)

Oh totally! But I AM on the Metformin which I believe has helped me
tremendously as well. I was told by a reproductive endo. that having a baby
puts PCOS into "remission" for about a 2 year period after giving birth.
Not sure if that's actually studied or documented anywhere. I also have
found that having a baby seems to *fix* all kinds of infertility. As I've
mentioned in the past, I was part of a 5 woman infertility support group.
All 5 of us had our first babies within 6 months of each other - with many
various medical interventions...and now all 5 of us are on our second babies
with NO treatment at all. It wasn't a PCOS group, just random infertility
and only 1 other has PCOS (and she's a VERY thin woman).

Are you wanting to get pregnant? I thought you were single(You could use a
donor)? Why go to the trouble/expense of tests?

Just curious.

I think a normally functioning body is a good thing, don't you? There
is no expense to the tests, and what trouble? one blood draw.
I am single, but frankly that's not really any business of anyone's if
and how I did decide to have a baby. :-P

Hmmm, interesting. I'm trying to decide what I want to do about the
PCOS. I have a sneaking suspicion that if I do nothing, I will just sort
of gradually grind to a halt, and be back to square one. but I'm also
not sure I want to do ANYthing if I am atm "functioning normally"

If it ain't broke, and all, but it's been "broke" for so long, that I'm
also not at all sure I trust that it will continue.

still, the 7dpo should tell a bit more.

Dawn, wisely single and seeking endocrinological Zen ;-)

If it wasn't anyones business then why tell us? I mean I only have the
information you have posted previously right here on the NG (google can
confirm this).
I was wondering about the test, as here they wouldn't do such tests on a
single woman. My sister and her DH have had to go to hell and back to get
fertility tests rolling.
Yes a normal functioning body is a good thing, but infertility wouldn't do
any harm if you wern't trying for a baby.

g Just showing a little interest like you do ;o)

Andrea.

I haven't told you.

Where do you find that I am wanting to have another baby on google????

Well, lets see. PCOS is NOT a fertility issue.

That aside, singlehood isn't any kind of indicator of reproductive
status, and I'm SURE there are women "there" who are having babies alone
using donor sperm, etc who therefore MUST be getting tested. i'm willing
to bet that PCOS women seeking non-reproductive treatment are getting
"those tests" there, too.

"hell and back" seems to be your family's experience with the medical
system, but sometimes it just takes finding the right person/clinic to
help when you need it. I didn't throw my hands up at the first
indication of difficulty or I wouldn't have DS.

SO SO wrong!
I have PCOS. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It's not just about
infertility. And it can be deadly if I stick my head in the sand and
pretend like it doesn't matter.

g Just showing a little interest like you do ;o)

Well, go google PCOS.

Puleeze (again)

Tell this dumb Dane - what is PCOS?

Tine, Denmark

p.s. I accidently got pregnant at the age of 43! And DS is made with help as
well. I now have a IUD as I feel I'm to old for childbearing (45).

I only see Andrea's posts, but not Dawns. Does anyone else experience that?
I see Dawn's post as replies in Andrea's so I get the information anyhow.
