toddler hates cows milk
Hi -- If she doesn't like cow's milk, don't force the issue. Does she eat other dairy products (cheese, yogurt ...) happily? If so, just let her drink water instead. Water is the healthiest drink there is and should be encouraged. If she's avoiding other dairy products (turns her nose up at cheese and yogurt etc.) then consider that she might have an allergy to the stuff. Trust her instincts and don't push it. Remember, your toddler is weaning from breast/formula to a Healthy, Varied Diet, NOT to milk. Cow's milk is only one part of a varied, healthy diet and, like any individual food, isn't necessary. It's convenient, but not necessary! Make sure your toddler is getting planty of fluids, calcium, protein and vitamin D: those are the nutrients that milk provides. It's easiest to substitute cheese and water, and you've got it all. Keep offering a taste of milk from time to time. In the absence of an actual allergy/intolerance, your toddler will probably learn to like the stuff eventually.
