Default domperidone and fenugreek forever?

My dd is 8 weeks now. We had a slow start (which mirrored the
troubles I had with my first dd), but with the help of fenugreek and
domperidone we have made it this far. I also still eat oatmeal 2x a
day. I also took blessed thistle inititially, but cut it out with no
ill effects to my milk supply, but whenever I try to drop a
domperidone pill or drop the fenugreek my supply seems to suffer from
it, and the baby seems to start being hungry all the time again. Even
on Fenugreek and Domperidone I have only had a few times (right before
the 6 week growth spurt and right after the 6 week growth spurt) that
my baby would ever even think of turning down a breast when offered.
It was at those times that I tried to drop off some of the meds. So,
I am wondering if it would be worse for my dd to be subjected to these
meds for a long time or to get a bit of formula. Any thoughts on
this?

The cost is not an issue since formula is probably less than or equal
to the cost of the meds. The only issue is what's good for the baby,
but does anyone know of a good source of fenugreek online that is not
too expensive. I have been getting it at GNC for an arm and a leg.
