Will milk supply rebound--toddler?
DS is almost 15 mos and has been only bf twice daily.
But, since yesterday, he hasn't wanted to eat any solids....then today he comes down with a tummy bug. So, he just wants to nurse.....will I be able to make enough milk for him now that we've only been down to 2? Is there something I need to do to make more? MM is really all he wants and I want to make sure that I have enough to give. Thanks, Annie |

ADDITIONAL Q ( Will milk supply rebound--toddler?)
I just talked to a friend and she told me that I shouldn't start bf more
when DS is on the way to being weaned, sick or not....she was adamant that it would be confusing to him to be on a schedule of less nursing and then go back to nursing a lot again. Opinions? I don't think that's necessarily the case. Once he feels better, he probably won't *want* to nurse all the time. Anyway, does she have any better ideas? He's already not feeling well and breastmilk is, as he seems to know by instinct, the best thing for him when ill. Withholding it because it *might* set back your weaning plans by maybe a month, if at all, seems like a really bad plan. For production, if you want a quick kick-start, try a galactagogue like oatmeal or fenugreek (Mother's Milk tea is readily available and has fenugreek). -- iphigenia www.tristyn.net "i have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. i do not think that they will sing to me." |

Bull****! Every time both Clara and Niel got really sick as toddlers they would go off solid food and nurse only. It was never a problem. Larry |
