Default CSA worker tells me 40 % of CP's are male

Hi,

Just an item of info here. Might not be true, but a child support
worker, in Pa, told me yesterday that she estimates that 40 percent of

new
child support awards are going to men who are CP's. I told her I found

that
hard to believe.

K

A child support worker tries to circulate an invented statistic in order
to defend the rotten system from which she derives her income? How can that
be?

Estimates of the proportion of fathers who are custodial parents vary
from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. The highest reliable proportion that I
have seen is 15 percent. How many of these fathers have CS orders? Very,
very few. And of those who have orders, how many actually get paid? An
even tinier percentage.

Child support continues to be gender extortion.

I find it hard to believe, also. But, if they mean "new", and are
pointing to one small jurisdiction, and the sample size and timeframes
are small enough, they may very well be able to twist the stats and be
valid.

It could also mean that almost all men pay without the government
getting involved, but the small percentage of women who have C$ orders
almost all don't pay so they get proportionately lots of complaints
about women not paying.

In one of the previous annual CS reports put out by the federal OCSE, they
detailed the national profile of what they refer to as their clients. 85%
were mothers, 8% were fathers, and 7% were non-bio adults like aunts and
uncles, grandparents, and foster care parents. What is significant is this
report is the roll-up of all reports from the states.

OCSE hasn't published this breakdown in the last couple of years, but I
would suspect there have been no significant shifts in their client
demographics.
