Judge Releases 14-Year-Old After Knife Attack

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Eyewitness news talked to a relieved mother
whose teenager was moments away from being shot by Orange County
deputies.

14-year-old Rshounda Cooper made her first appearance in juvenile court
this afternoon.

Deputies shot her with a taser after she tried to attack another
student at the Gateway School and then turned the knife toward a
deputy.

Rshounda Cooper was just released to her mother tonight from juvenile
hall. The judge has ordered Cooper to stay away from Gateway and be
limited to home confinement.

Rshounda Cooper maintained her innocence in juvenile court. Cooper was
arrested for bringing a butcher knife to school, allegedly to attack
15-year-old Jamar Hinds at Gateway School. Cooper may have dated Hinds.

For now, the judge says Cooper can go home with her mother, Younda
Allen.

"Overall she is a good child, I'm just glad that they let my baby go,"
said a relieved Allen......
