Sounds like an infection to me.

Or else she is rebelling.

If the doctor finds nothing wrong, then ignore it until she decides to
use the toilet. Make it her problem.

Or someone is sexually abusing her

Could be that she can't control it, but is embarrassed by it, and that's why
she says no she didn't do it. Overnight, she definately can't control it,
she's asleep. I wouldn't take the Dr's word that she's lazy, maybe she is,
but that's not necessarily the reason for it. It's possible she has
overactive bladder and really can't help/hold it. Maybe with 4 boys, she
feels a little left out and this is her way of getting attention from you.
Maybe she has an infection. There are many explanations other than her
being lazy.

Then don't ask her if she wet them. If you can see that they are wet, she
knows you know .. and asking her only humiliates her.

egads. sounds like the doc is lazy not the kid. Has the doc done ANY
testing?

i dont know what to do.. at time she smells of urine and i dont know what

Tell her you don't blame her, tell you that you will no longer give her a
hard time about it, tell her that you love her and that you know what she is
dealing with is diffucult. Support her. Let her have some dignity.

tried the pull-ups.. tried making her sit when she wets at

How long ago was that? The infection could have caused damage.

If it does have to do with being "lazy", then it's a matter of
scheduling toilet time. Some kids would rather not interrupt anything
in order to go to the bathroom, and so they hold it until they're
physically incapable of holding it anymore. If that's what she's
doing, then you just have to set up times when she needs to go --
every time before you leave the house, when you get back, before
meals, before bedtime, whatever. The Bug virtually never says she has
to go potty unless she has to poop, and can hold her urine for 12
hours. *I* need to stay on top of how long it's been since she peed
to make sure she goes often enough, and I tell her when she needs to
go.

The others who have answered you here are correct, do not punish her
for being wet. Something is very wrong. It might be behavioral, but
that is unlikely: it is unlikely because she is wetting at night
too. Possible physical causes include damage due to an infection or
abuse, and a tumor.

You don't mention consulting a pediatric urologist. Please do that
now. You don't mention an MRI scan of her pelvis: please ask the
urologist about this. Please find a more diligent pediatrician.

My daughter had a large tumor removed from her pelvis. I cannot tell
you how many other parents of survivors of pelvic tumors I have run
across who insisted to their pediatricians for months or years that
something was wrong, only to be told the child was lazy / slow /
spoiled.

Is this something that has always been, or something that has started
recently?

If it started recently, it is one of the signs of sexual abuse and/or trama.

If this has always been the case with her, eventually she will get tired of
being wet and use the bathroom.

It could also be her bladder, or kidneys. The doctor should have checked for
all of the things everyone has mentioned. I have to agree that the doctor is
lazy.

I agree but with a little more detail. First, who is yelling and getting all
mad? You or her? If it is you, stop. It is her body and her bodily function.
And you cannot control it.

If she is MAD, then maybe she is out of control and needs help. Did you doc
examine her for infection or other possible physical cause? If not, get
another doc who will and wont just jump to too lazy.

If a physical cause is ruled out, have her handle the results of the messes.
No angry words. She has to pack and carry clean clothes to change into. She
packs plastic bags to put the wet clothes into when she is at school. She
puts them in the washing machine at the end of the day. She changes herself.
She cleans up the floor, the bootster seat... whatever. No muss. No fuss.
Simply tell her that taking care of her wetness is her responsibility. She
can choose the way of cleaning up the wetness or she can choose to go in the
toilet.

I have a sense, built on nowhere NEAR enough evidence so please feel free to
completely ignore me if I am off base, that there si something goin on here.
Did she formerly use the toilet successfully? If so, what changed? Could she
be negative attention seeking in the absence of positive attention. This is
very easy at about the 7yo age when school and activities start to make life
so busy sometimes we forget to make time for Mom and "baby." (Wont they
always be our babies?) Or perhaps she had an accident once and the reaction
was bad enough to scare her into fearing her own ability to use the toilet?
Or of course, a physical cause.

Anyway best of luck.

I have a hard time with laziness as a cause. She is peeing her pants At
School. Not even in 1st and 2nd grade to children want to be wet and smelly.
That is *embarrassing*.
