Silent reflux
also posted at am, mkb
I don't know who was crying harder this night, me or DS2. He is having increasing problems that point in the direction of silent reflux. This means he has all the symptoms of reflux, except he doesn't vomit, he swallows everything back down. He's getting progressively worse since a week, this night and morning he was crying with pain and breaking my heart. We've tried several tips that work with reflux, but not much luck so far. He only wants to sleep on his tummy now. Giving him some special cereal before and after nursing has worked some feedings, but not all. Sitting or lying with his head up seems to only worsen the symptoms. He seems to be in pain when he is regurgitating. I will wean myself off dairy by monday, to see if that improves the situation. Since he seemed in so much pain, I went to the emergency GP, who didn't tell me more than "wait and see". All tips, advice and help are welcome. -- --I mommy to DS1 (July '02) mommy to DD & DS2 (August '05) mommy to four tiny angels (Oct '03 - Oct '04) guardian of DH (age classified) |

same here, no advice, just sympathy, it's bad enough when a singleton
behaves like that, but with a twin it must be hell I am partly with the doctor, that sometimes you do just have to wait it out. I do hope getting rid of the dairy helps though Anne |

My 34 weeker had silent reflux. Oral suspension Zantac has worked
WONDERS for her. Her doctor is going to discontinue the Zantac at her next appointment (6 months) and we're hoping she's going to have outgrown it. Good luck!
