Hulda Clark ZAPPED!

Earlier this week, a copy of the BolenBilge Report was posted where Bolen
mentioned that the FTC case against some of the Clark-Entities, notably the
Dr. Clark Research Associates, had been settled.

I predicted that Bolen would attempt to find a way to spin this. I was
wrong. Based upon my reading of the stipulation, which can be found at:

no one could spin this as a win for Dr. Clark. I strongly urge anyone who is
interested to read the stipulation for themselves.

No, it means that the defendants will be monitored as a group to ensure
they do not bilk anyone else, and, pay back what they ripped off.

With Hulda hiding out in Mexico, and only "quietly" coming back into

FDA? It was the Federal Trade Commission who filed the claim. Back in Jan.
2003.

I guess because this is alternative medicine, the FDA doesn't have
jurisdiction over the matter.

The Syncrometer and Zapper are medical devices, because of
the claims made for them, therefore FDA has jurisdiction.

It is the interference of Congress which makes the FDA
reluctant to act.

FTC also has jurisdiction, when false claims are made for
products of any sort. FTC gets less heat from Congress
than does FDA, because FDA is the focus of a number
of quack lobbying organizations. Not to mention the
food industry, big pharma, etc., all of which make FDA
exquisitely sensitive to the mood of Congress. FTC
doesn't have such a big problem with political lobbies,
because there are no undisguised lobbies for outright fraud.
