So, since it's so dead in here...
I thought I'd just type...
Just new stuff happening around here... Other than the bedroom ordeal, which is basically done for the time being, I had a doctor's appointment last week. My OB said I was measuring small, again, and she has me booked for an ultrasound at the hospital next Wednesday morning, then a doctor's visit on Thursday morning. My last appointment, 3 weeks earlier, I believe, I was measuring 2 weeks small - not a concern or unusual. I was told that, generally, the norm is to measure anywhere between 2 weeks small and 2 weeks big. Anything over or under those 2 weeks on each side is when they call for an u/s to check things out... And find out why. Obviously I'm going to wait to see what the results are after the u/s next week before I worry - at this point, I'm doing my best to not worry! I asked around and some said the possibilities for measuring small a -Baby is just normal size but laying in a position to hide a bit. -Baby is a bit smaller, but everything is still fine and nothing to be concerned about. -Amniotic fluids are low, and I was told drinking lots and lots of water can help this problem (and yes, anyways, I've been trying to drink lots and lots of water lately anyways!) -Some issue called, "IUGR" - "Intrauterine Growth Restriction", and I'm not too familiar with this... I was kind of getting a bit scared when someone mentioned this IUGR thing - apparently, I was told and read, that if this is the case, *often* delivery is pushed for about 37 weeks. Yikes. For me, that's 2 weeks from today and just under a week after this u/s! This would also mean a scheduled c-section (if this was the case) and having some major surgery is NOT alright with me lol I can't be induced due to a previous C-section, which sucks. And also, having a baby in like 2 weeks is so not alright with me... Especially since there'd be so much more that came with that idea! She's VERY active ALL the time, so I don't think there's much reason to be concerned. I am going to wait until next Wednesday to find out, obviously. I have my aunt coming here in the morning at about 9am to stay with A and be here so I can be at my appointment at the hospital for 10am. I was told by my OB's nurse that this u/s and the NST could take a few hours anyways, so my aunt is going to stay with A (who would NOT have fun being packed around for this kind of appointment for a few hours) and B's bus comes home just before noon from school, and someone HAS to be here to collect him from the school bus... The time of this appointment and the bus problem kinda make it so that I really do need someone here, and I wasn't about to keep B out of school to drag him to an appointment that he, too, would NOT have fun at. Just made more sense to have someone here, and the only condition my aunt has about coming over here is that I have this place relatively in order.... Not a problem, as I am quite proud of all I did upstairs with A's room and my room, and I've yanked most of B's toys and garbage out of his room to organize and keep downstairs in what I'm currently working on as a TV/play room for him. I hope to have that basement room DONE before the end of the weekend.... I've been trying to spend a bit of time each day down there doing something with it. A little bit at a time. I did manage to move the 2 HUGE computer desks out of that room. They were sitting with junk on them anyways and no computers. I packed N's desk nicely under the stairs, along with his personal belongings (some clothes, tools, weights, etc.) to get that all out of the way. I also made room in that same room for my computer desk - I'll use it just as a storage area for the time being. It's in the corner of the laundry room, and since it's so big, I thought I would make it useful in the laundry room and put laundry baskets on it to sort and do laundry - yes, it's that big. The TV room side is also coming along now that the desks are out... I cleared off the entire one wall and put the TV wall unit up where I want it, along with the big speakers in each corner. I haven't put the TV or VCR and that stuff on the wall unit yet, but the stand is all there and cleared off. I also did a good run with the vacuum on the cement floor where the TV will be. I have bins and bins of toys sorted as well. They're kinda scattered about the middle of the floor, but still... I went out and bought 2 larger plastic bins with lids and 4 smaller ones with lids to sort toys and keep them organized.... Each bin, so far, has similar toys in them - one is for wooden blocks, one is for the big Mega Blocks, one is for all the small Hotwheels and Matchbox type cars, one is 'baby' toys that are more for A and so on. The train table has trains and the tracks ONLY in it... All the gazillion Legos are in their huge box now... THAT took a long time, and I'm sure there's more kicking around under the sofa and such... I have someone who might be interested in taking the second couch and giving it a new home - it's the hide-a-bed sofa that I probably don't really need. I just need to do something with these bins of toys and all that, and it's done! The cable for the TV is already strung in the basement and has been for so long, so that's a plus. I just need to figure out how N had the TV and DVD players and all that hooked up so they all work! I'm not even going to bother with the stereo stuff at this point, as with my luck, I'll probably start a fire or something LOL I still have to tackle all the laundry... I have someone coming over tomorrow evening to pick up some baby clothes that A has grown out of that I don't see a reason to keep (most of it is stuff I just have way too much of - like sleepers and socks and stuff, as I've already packed up in boxes the baby clothes that I want to keep, and am not going to make it overkill with clothes, as A didn't get a chance to wear half the stuff she had before growing out of it) and also have lots of clothes that I really liked but found that I just didn't put her in, so why keep it? Just because I like it and it's nice? Keep it so that this baby won't wear it either, but I like the outfit anyways? Meh... Less is sometimes better! I'm also looking for a good home (still) for the dog... I hate to find him a new home, but I really don't need the added headaches that come with him. He does cost money (food, vet, etc.) and takes a lot of time... B, A and this baby will more than likely fill up more time than I actually have as it is... I'm hoping to find a good home for the dog where he can get the attention and time he needs, and find someone who is alright with the added expenses... It's just too hard to manage a dog with the kids on my own, I've been finding. Now, though, all the talk about the basement makes me want to go down there... B's alright upstairs in my room watching TV... A's still having a nap, and if I'm lucky, she'll be down for another hour or so at the most... That gives me some time to work the basement out for a bit! Maybe I'll make Bran go down with me and help out! |
