He had a nice, but crazy day. It's never quite as
good when your birthday falls on a school day! We had a two
hour late start (icing), and he brought cookies in to school,
so he was happy about that. Unfortunately, he had writing
homework (had to write a silly poem). Normally he has writing
homework on Tuesdays, but Tuesday was a snow day so he had
it on Wednesday instead. Getting him to write is always
like pulling teeth, plus he wanted to go out to dinner
for his birthday, which I had scheduled thinking it was
safe. The upshot was that we had too much to cram in between
him getting home and bedtime so he was not particularly on
his best behavior, but c'est la vie. He did enjoy his
birthday presents, and his main celebrations are coming
up later. This Saturday my parents are taking him out
for breakfast, a show, and museums (or something), and
next Saturday he's going out with his brother and best
friend for bowling, movies, video games and whatnot. I
got the boys monogrammed bowling shirts for the event,
which are really a hoot.
