Joelle
I saw an article in this issue of "Working Mother". It was about
pastors, women and parenting. I thought of you, and did not know if you were still pastoring. This article was great and I enjoyed it and wanted to know if you would like to pick up a copy or find a link on the web. Vicky |

Two members are women
pastors and our first book was the Da Vinci Code. Very interesting. Well my opinion on that has always been that making Magdalene Jesus' lover is just another attempt to sexualize women and their relationships. It is really so hard to believe that maybe a woman was interested in Jesus because of his IDEAS and not romantic love? I do agree that Magdalene was a threat to the church and was marginalized, but not because of her sexual relationship with Jesus but because of her leadership. Is that the hocus pocus known as the bible code? Dennis It's a novel that's set up as a modern-day whodunit and based on the human history of Christianity. I think you would enjoy it very much, Dennis. You could approach it from any number of perspectives -- spiritual, historical, feminist -- with art history, cryptography... and sex of course... all playing a role. lm |
